Final Jenny Craig Post!

Hello ladies!

Back again for my third and final Jenny Craig post.

I have learned a lot over this past month.  First, I have learned that it really is not that hard to lose and/or maintain weight. It is a simple formula. Calories in, calories out, exercise yadda yadda. We all know this deep down, it is just the putting your mind to it and DOING it that is half the battle.  I know how to eat right, I just have to DO it! Ha ha. Easier said than done right? Well I feel like Jenny Craig is a great program that teaches you about healthy lifestyle eating.  It is a change you have to make on a daily basis. There is no magic fix, it is a slow, natural process that in time will become a way of eating and living.

What I really enjoyed about the program, was the one on one attention I got from my fab consultant, Kerstin. She took the time to talk to me and help me solve little problems (for example, she gave me some low calorie drink recipes!), and she really helped me tailor the program to my specific needs.

I also LOVED the food. I think I am addicted, ha.

My favorite breakfast?

Breakfast scramble, with Frank’s RedHot sauce of course ;)

My favorite lunch was the Broccoli and Cheese baked potato. Heavenly!

Favorite dinner? Chicken Carbonara!

And let’s not forget about the Cheesecake. HELLO. So good.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the program. I am undecided at this point if I will continue on this specific program or not. Like I said, I KNOW how to eat right, and now that I have put my mind to it, I am well on my way to reaching my goals! I am down a little over five pounds, which is great. I know I probably could have lost more if I had made a more solid attempt to cut out those cocktails, he he. I definitely want to lose about 15 more pounds. My ONLY hesitation with continuing the program is the financial obligations. Granted, it is not crazy expensive, but it’s still more than I would spend making smart, educated decisions on my own at the store. So we will see what I decide to do!

Have any questions for me about the program? Any comments? I would love to hear what you think. If you are like me and weight has always been a source of stress, you are so not alone sister! But remember life is SO much bigger then what size jeans you wear. But luckily, you have the choice to do something about it! Just don’t get crazy on me now ;) haha

Comment with your thoughts, questions for your chance to win a $100 Visa gift card from Jenny Craig and BlogHer!

{ps, down five pounds!}

Hopefully soon I will be back down to this weight, back when I was a little college girl! Ha ha.  SO YOUNG! Geez….

Xoxo lovelies.

Jenny Craig Review #2!

Hey girls!

Well we are halfway through the month of Jenny Craig if you will! So far I have really enjoyed the program, and my amazing consultant Kerstin! I feel like she is one of my girlfriends, HA!

So things are going well. I lost 2 pounds the first week, and an additional 2.2 the second week. Not too shabby right?  I was pleased!

I am feeling really good, and Sis told me I looked skinny the other day, so hey that’s  a win in my book! HA!

I can tell a few differences already:

1.     My clothes physically fit better, YAY!
2.     I can tell in pics that my arms and face are thinner, woop woop!
3.     I am in a better mood, no lie. I think eating every 2 and a half hours (like I do on the plan) really helps keep my body and mind in optimum efficiency. I don’t get as cranky, and I am happier because I know what I am doing for my body is the right thing.

Here are some pics so far. Seeee…. Skinnier face. YAY! Haha ;)

I can really tell in my arms as well…

Anyway, the road to weight loss is not all sunshine and daisies. Yes, the Jenny Craig program makes it a lot easier, but I mean there are still daily temptations, that if you let them, will throw you off course.

My biggest challenge?

Cocktails.

I am 26, and verrrrry social, so I am constantly around friends and around cocktails. I mean I practically have a wedding every weekend for crying out loud. I pretty much know that a vodka soda is smarter choice than a margarita (hello calories?!), but it is still hard for me to know exactly what I am drinking, calorie-wise. Plus your inhibitions get lowered when you are drinking, and that 4th glass of wine doesn’t sound so bad anymore.

This is definitely one of the things I have had trouble with. I do super at following my Jenny Craig menu, that is not the issue. It’s those darn glasses of wine, ha. I know that in life, it is all about moderation, so Kerstin and I talked about how I could offset these indulgences with increased activity. She is so smart ;) . Also, I realized that for me, sometimes it is just about having something in your hand, so I started alternating a glass of wine with a glass of water, or just club soda. You would be surprised how much this helped me to keep it under control! (I also feel a lot better the next day) funny how that works right? ;)

Another thing that I have found that helps, is following Jenny on Twitter. It is kinda like a constant reminder to me, even when I am not thinking about it, to keep up the good work. Also, I find some great tips!

I would LOVE to know what you ladies do to keep the cocktail calories under control! Do you have any special recipes for low cal cocktails? How do you social butterflies like me avoid the temptations that weddings, tailgates, and parties throw at you? Leave a comment for your chance to win a $100 Visa gift card from Jenny Craig and BlogHer!

Wish me luck ladies!!

Jenny Craig Review!

Well girls. Time to talk about one of those issues us ladies just LOVE: weight, and body image.

Insert panic right? Wrong. Calm down, we are just chatting here ;)

I recently participated in a four week review for Jenny Craig, and now that I am finished I will be sharing my reviews, and results!

I am, and always have been one of those girls that has to be really careful about her weight. I can gain five pounds LOOKING at a bagel, you know what I mean. It blows.  Unfortunately I have a HORRIBLE habit of gaining and losing… I know I know it is pretty much the worst thing you can do for your metabolism, but it has always been a pattern for me. I have wanted to lose some lbs. and tone up for a while now so when Jenny Craig came a knockin’ I answered.

I got contacted about doing a review for Jenny Craig, and at first I was on the fence about this new program I knew nothing about. I have always been a Weight Watchers girl so I was unsure, but when I found out I got to participate in the program free of charge, and received all meals for free I thought, what the heck do I have to lose? Except possibly some poundage from my arse.

So I filled out the paperwork, and hopped on board. I chose to do my consultations over the phone, because I am a super busy gal. My first phone call with the Jenny Craig ladies was extremely helpful, since I really had no clue what the program really was all about.  I got walked through the process and picked out my first two weeks of food.

Two days later a box showed up at my door with all of my beautifully packaged goodies inside.  Everything was organized so nicely, frozen foods on dry ice, and shelf stable ones packaged separately. There was even a little note inside from the individual that packaged it.

The first thing I noticed was a major branding overhaul. I remembered the old packaging, because the woman I used to work for was a Jenny Craig lover, but I had not seen their new packaging. Re-brand SUCCESS friends. SOO much more appealing!

It was so simple. The Jenny Craig plan seemed to take all the guesswork out of the equation. Since the program supplied all of the items you needed (minus fresh fruit and veggies) it was really simple to understand. The program is designed for participants to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

The first week I was SO surprised. I am use to diet food, Lean Cuisines and I go way back. Ohmaword y’all… I am not kidding when I tell you these Jenny meals are phenom. I had no idea they were so good! My favorites were the breakfasts. I am eating French toast and omelets and breakfast scrambles for breakfast every day. Amazing! Totally beat my yogurt I used to eat.

Seriously, hello little piece of heaven. Add some Frank’s RedHot (which I put on EVERYTHING) and you are one happy chica. (check out the food choices here. Amazing!)

I am really excited to see how this program goes! I realize it is more of a lifestyle change than anything. If you want to see results, you have to always make conscious choices. You can’t get caught up in fad diets, ya know? It is more about the quality of the food you are putting in your body. And so far, I am really impressed with the program and the food!

Have any of you done anything like this before? What are your tips for losing weight and staying healthy? Leave a comment on this post between 10/10/11 and 11/6/11 to
enter to win a $100 Visa card from Jenny Craig and BlogHer!

I am excited to see what you all think! Also looking for any tips you have to share!

Xoxo

Mary Kay Review!

Hey girls! As you all know I LOVE makeup! So of course I was super excited when Mary Kay contacted me about doing a review for some of their new products! I use to use Mary Kay ALL the time, but kind of just got away from it when I lost touch with my Mary Kay beauty consultant, but when my goodies arrived, I was instantly reminded why I use to use their products so much!

The three products I will show you today are the Mary Kay ultimate mascara, lip balm, and mini compact with blush, and three eye shadows. The blush color is shy blush, and the eye shadow colors are moonstone, sweet plum, and sienna. Put together perfectly for green eyes! Check here for all the color selections!

LOVE these colors!

Now how cute is this little compact seriously? It is so tiny and you can throw it in any purse and you have everything you need right with you! I really like the blush color, it reminds me a lot of NARS orgasm blush, which is one of my favorites. It has a nice gold shimmer to it. Very pretty!

I have always liked the ultimate mascara, it is smooth, clump free and thickening. I love the wand, it gives you maximum control for pumping up the lashes!

I had not tried the lip balm but I LOVE it. One of my biggest pet peeves in the summer is getting my hair in my lip gloss, haha. This is the perfect solution, as it moisturizes while giving you the perfect amount of color without making your lips sticky. I am going to the beach in a week, and this will be joining in my beach bag for sure.

Here is a little video I filmed for you all to show me using the products. Let me know if you have any questions!

For your chance to win $100 worth of free products, check out the sites below! The giveaway will end August 26, so make sure you check it out!!
